Dear Friends,

“The community of the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette is happy to announce the 61st Annual Festival of Lights beginning on November 27, 2014 through January 4, 2015.

Words are inadequate to describe how the 350,000 lights will develop this year’s theme “Jesus Light of Life” (John 8:12).

We affirm that Christmas is a time to reflect upon the birth of Jesus. Jesus is the reason for all these lights and our reason for celebrating our “Jesus Light of Life” (John 8:12).

Jesus is our Light in good times and bad. Jesus is always the one in whom we trust.

It is my prayer-filled hope that each of our visitors will be touched by Jesus and be reborn once again. May all of our lives become a light in our families and to all those we meet along the way.

Come see our international crèche museum, which has many hundreds of crèches from around the world. This year we also have lots more of the International Crèches, which we had to extend to the former Icon Museum. This exhibit help us see Jesus through the eyes of our brothers and sisters from around the world.

The Outdoor Crèche of Bethlehem along with Clopper the Christmas donkey is some of the other main attractions.

Come visit us, walk among the lights, and hear the sounds of this most blessed season. Come discover for yourself what the newborn child wants to share with us.

May Jesus Light of Life shower you with peace, love and joy and reveal to us He truly is the reason for this season.

Rev. Fr. Cyriac Mattathilanickal, M.S.
New Shrine Director
